About The Speaker

Tamika Bartley is an inquisitive, creative, gregarious, literacy artist. She is currently a District Secondary Curriculum Coordinator for English Language Arts. From authorship, awards, and accolades she has spinned off entrepreneurial outlets that have many facets, yet education is the core of them all.

Monique Boone is an adventurer, a scholar, and an esteemed literary change agent. Between being a Teacher Leader for the American Federation of Teachers, recognized for 40 under 40 Next Generation Leaders, and leading an entire district in a reading and writing turn around she has been reigned the prestigious recognition of the Mercedes Bonner Leadership Award. Monique is considered a walking bookstore to all that know her.

Melody Gerard is a plant enthusiast, flexitarian, and intellect. She has leaped from a Master’s in Public Administration to 20 years in Education. Currently Melody is a Scholastic Literacy Specialist traveling throughout Texas coaching teachers in best literary practices. She’s an authoring contributor to Teacher to Teacher and African American Studies in Texas Schools. She shows up as her authentic self and her reading passion is contagious.

Together, this trio has founded “ For the Culture, Literacy Development ”. A consulting company for educators that collaborates and broadens instructional practices through reaching marginalized voices.
