About The Speaker

A 25 year educator, Tammy holds a masters degree in Early Childhood Education as well as K-12 Visual Arts Educator Certification.  She taught first and second grade for 13 years and elementary visual arts for 9 years.  For the past three years, she has served as the K-5 Art Content Specialist as well as a member of the Curriculum and Instruction and Professional Learning teams for the Douglas County School System in Douglasville, Georgia.  Her passion is making cross curricular connections in a creative way.  Having artistic talent is not a requirement to incorporate visuals in any classroom.  Her sessions will help you discover that having purpose is the key!

Anchor charts are not just a nice visual resource for your classroom, they are tools for student engagement and learning that are created with purpose.. You will discover the most effective ways to create and utilize anchor charts. This session will explore a variety of ways to make charts more student-centered, offer anchor chart storage solutions, as well as provide a variety of ideas for creating virtual anchor charts.
